Angelo Cirimile: Brainchild of Sico Carlier, the fourth issue of Currency explores the idea of liberty within the format of a magazine, 128 black & white pages bear witness to this process. It abandons the system of privileged column-sequences used in the preceding editions, here it explores the use of the (counter) direction of Japanese. The disseminated Japanese character use liberates us from the idea that one must read all.

Angelo Cirimile: Not like any other Magazine.
Leafing through Currency the reader experiences traversing spaces (the doubles pages) of which the confinements are elsewhere, what guides us is the composition, the over- printed, the piece. Surprisingly there is a feeling of unity which emerges from the magazine, and almost the difficulty to penetrate it. The artistic direction assures a legibility and a cohesion which ensures Currency does not resemble any other magazine.
Yasuo Kishibe: Famous Japanese art-director Hideki Nakajima recommends five publications he finds interesting to the readers of Esquire Japan, and your magazine is one of them, so you should feel good about it! Translated it reads:
This magazine is edited and art directed by Sico Carlier, I find the title Currency quite witty, not to mention the fresh visuals, the articles are also interesting enough to make this magazine attractive. The text is written in French, English and German. The magazine features many interviews, old and new interviews with the same person are mixed up, or it is not clear where an interview begins sometimes. It's pretty confusing in amusing way. I believe this is an act of a self assured criminal.
